Mosquitoes are flying insects that spread diseases like dengue and chikungunya to people.

The Aedes, Anopheles, and Culex mosquitoes are only a few of the numerous types of mosquitoes that may be found worldwide.

1. Aedes Mosquito
   
   The Aedes mosquito has white and black stripes on its body and legs, and it is also known as the Asian Tiger Mosquito.
   
   Risk:
   
   Among other harmful human infections, they are the cause of dengue and chikungunya.
   
   Characteristics:
   
   These mosquitoes normally bite once per day. They feed indoors and outdoors most often in the early morning during the last three to four hours of daylight. They like to live indoors and in concealed areas, such as in closets, beneath sinks, or between the folds of curtains.
   
   
2. Anapholes Mosquito
   
   The early morning and the last three to four hours of daylight are when these mosquitoes are most active indoors and outdoors, and they normally bite once each day. They prefer to live indoors and in dark places, as in closets, beneath sinks, or among the folds of draperies, for example.
   
   Risk:
   
   Anapholes mosquitoes pose a significant threat since they are commonly linked to the transmission of severe diseases like malaria. Anopheles culicifacies is the primary vector for 60–70% of malaria transmission in India.
   
   Characteristics:
   
   Adult Anopheles can be distinguished primarily by the way they normally repose, with their abdomens tilted at an inclination of around 45 degrees rather than parallel to the surface.
   
   
3. Culex Mosquito:
   
   The Culex Mosquito is a brownish grey, 5–6 mm long insect. On the water’s surface, it lays eggs that bond together to form floating rafts.
   
   Risk:
   
   Culex mosquitoes spread diseases like encephalitis, filariasis, and several arboviral illnesses that have an impact on human health.
   
   Characteristics:
   
   Culex mosquitos are opportunistic feeders, meaning they will feed on humans as well as a variety of animals depending on their availability. Adult mosquitoes often lie down with their fore and middle legs parallel to the ground and their hind legs upward.
